PATTREN OF PAPERS:
a. PART-WISE SHEME OF STUDIES AT S.S.C LEVEL (FOR CLASS IX & X)
As approved by the Committee of the Boards Chairmen (CBC) of NWFP, the new pattern of paper setting/distribution of marks in examination papers of various subjects in Secondary School (SSC) (Annual) Examination 2004 & onwards will be as follows: -
a. For a 50 marks paper Section-A 15 marks
Section-B 15 marks
Section-C 20 marks
b- For a 60 marks paper. Section-A 15 marks
Section-B 15 marks
Section-C 30 marks
For a 75 marks paper
(Except English, Urdu & Maths) Section-A 25 marks
Section-B 20 marks
Section-C 30 marks
Section-A will be objective. Section -B will be of questions requiring short answers of three to four lines. Section-C will be descriptive/essay type questions.
The new pattern of paper setting/distribution of section-wise marks will not be applicable to
English, Urdu and Maths. However, in the examination papers of these subjects Section-A will contain objective question of 25 marks whereas the remaining papers will be of old pattern based on the prescribed course of studies.
The format of examination papers carrying 50, 60 and 75 marks is as under:
NEW FORMAT OF QUESTION PAPERS FOR S.S.C
(CARRYING 50 MARKS)
Time Allowed: Two hours Max.Marks: 50
Note: (i)-There will be THREE Sections of this paper i.e. Section-A, B and C. The portion containing Section-A must be returned to the Superintendent within the given time, even if the candidate has not attempted any question.
(ii)-Time allowed for Section-B & C is 1.40 hours & both sections carry 35 marks.
SECTION-A (Objective)
Time Allowed:20 Minutes Max.Marks: 15
Note: Attempt all questions in this section. Each question carries ONE mark.

(CARRYING 75 MARKS)
Time Allowed: Three hours Max.Marks: 75
Note: (i)-There will be THREE Sections of this paper i.e. Section-A, B and C. The portion containing Section-A must be returned to the Superintendent within the given time, even if the candidate has not attempted any question.
(ii)-Time allowed for Section-B & C is 2½ hours & both sections carry 50 marks.
SECTION-A (Objective)
Time Allowed: 30 Minutes Marks: 25
Note: Attempt all questions in this section. Each question carries ONE mark.

Time Allowed: 2 ½ Max.Marks: 60
Note: (i)-There will be THREE Sections of this paper i.e. Section-A, B and C. The portion containing Section-A must be returned to the Superintendent within the given time, even if the candidate has not attempted any question.
(ii)-Time allowed for Section-B & C is 2-10 hours & both sections carry 45 marks.

Time Allowed: 20 Minutes Max. Marks: 15
Note: Attempt all questions in this section. Each question carries ONE mark.
